High School
On completion of Middle School, the students enter High School.
High School welcomes students between the ages of 14-18 into 9
th
-
12
th
Grade. At every grade level, each student has a personalised time-
table, which develops his/her strengths and challenges intellectually.
Brillantmont’s High School programme offers courses which prepare
students to enter universities throughout the world. At various
stages, students may prepare British IGCSE, AS and A Level examina-
tions and PSAT, SAT Test and SAT subject test examinations. Students
can also sit European language examinations. By the end of the
12th Grade students have the option to graduate with an American
High School Graduation Diploma or a British Diploma, or may choose
a combination of both.
Students in
9
th
and 10
th
Grade
follow a selection of courses which
ensure they have a solid range of subjects, which must include
– English
– Mathematics
– at least one science
– at least one social science
– at least one language.
In
11
th
and 12
th
Grade
students follow courses which build on and
extend their subject knowledge, giving them the possibility to focus
on subjects in which they are particularly interested and may wish to
pursue further at university. The programme is designed to meet their
career/university objectives.
Students are encouraged to continue studying their mother tongue.
ICT is an integral component of all courses. Sports and PSHE classes
are compulsory for all students. All teaching is in English. In addition
to their academic programmes, all students follow extra-curricular
activities, many of which develop leadership skills.
