Middle School
The Middle School welcomes students aged 11-14 into
Grades 6 to 8.
The Middle School staff, led by the Middle School Coordinator, create
a warm, caring environment with a family feel.
We want the younger members of our school community to feel inte-
grated, happy and settled. Their well-being is of great importance
and we do our utmost to help them flourish and become confident,
responsible individuals.
The academic programe for Middle School students offers a broad
and comprehensive curriculum covering a wide range of subjects
including ICT, Citizenship and PSHE (Personal, Social and Health
Education). Sports classes are compulsory for all students. All sub-
jects taught have been incorporated into a carefully designed pro-
gramme of study that takes into account the international setting
of Brillantmont and the multicultural nature of the student body. All
mainstream students study French and are encouraged to begin a
third language from 6th Grade. Students are encouraged to continue
studying their mother tongue.
“From the day our daughter joined the Middle School
she felt at home and she has flourished in the nurturing
environment.”

We understand that students who are learning English as an addi-
tional language (EAL) may need time to develop the skills and
knowledge necessary to follow classroom instruction at the level
of mainstream students. Thus, we offer an intensive programme of
specialist English (EAL) tuition.
In addition to the academic programme, Middle School students par-
ticipate in extra-curricular activities, many of which develop lead-
ership skills. The Middle School aims to instil a love of learning and
sound study skills on which to build. By the end of the Middle School
years, students are prepared to enter the High School.
